Spring Soccer comes to Wayne County, Mississippi

Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports around the globe, and Wayne County, Mississippi, is riding the tide of enthusiasm for the year-round activity.  For the first time ever, our area will have a spring soccer season (with Saturday games only) running from March 23 through May 11.

The Fields of Waynesboro will serve as the venue for spring soccer, which will be under the direction of the Wayne County, Mississippi, Soccer League.

Our united goal is to see continued success while offering a fun and learning experience for all children in Waynesboro and neighboring communities within Wayne County and for our friends in adjacent Mississippi and Alabama counties.

Soccer promotes valuable life skills, including:

  • Teamwork
  • Fun and healthy lifestyle spotlighting exercise
  • Social interaction with peers and responsible adult leaders
  • Healthy competition
  • Good sportsmanship
  • Ethics and integrity

The Fields of Waynesboro and Wayne County, Mississippi, Soccer League work in tandem to coordinate and facilitate practice and play for the spring youth soccer program. The Wayne County, Mississippi, Soccer League is a non-profit comprised of community leaders, soccer enthusiasts and family members with participating children. All fees pay for expenses in running the spring league, to make improvements to the new sports complex and purchase equipment used to play the game. There are no league leaders paid for their efforts ... making this a labor of love for children and the game.

We can't do this alone. Please consider becoming a volunteer with the spring soccer organization.

Please visit the Wayne County, Mississippi, Soccer League Facebook page to learn more about our mission and for frequent updates.  Additionally, please visit our Wayne County, Mississippi, Soccer Club website.

Welcome to The Fields of Waynesboro

The Fields of Waynesboro soccer fields

The Fields of Waynesboro soccer fields were constructed in late 2018

The Fields of Waynesboro is the 21st Century recreational sports facility for Waynesboro and Wayne County, Mississippi, as well as surrounding communities and counties in Southeast Mississippi and Southwest Alabama. Located on Azalea Drive (Mississippi Highway 184) in Waynesboro, this almost 90-acres site will ultimately become home to eight baseball-softball fields, seven soccer fields, walking tracks and playgrounds to name some of the amenities planned. Thanks to the financial generosity and in-kind construction support of community benefactors, businesses and industries, two regulation soccer fields have already been constructed with more improvements on the way. We invite you to join in our efforts to build something unique in Southeast Mississippi -- a venue that will draw together families and communities.
