The Fields of Waynesboro soccer fields were constructed in late 2018
The Fields of Waynesboro is the 21st Century recreational sports facility for Waynesboro and Wayne County, Mississippi, as well as surrounding communities and counties in Southeast Mississippi and Southwest Alabama. Located on Azalea Drive (Mississippi Highway 184) in Waynesboro, this almost 90-acres site will ultimately become home to eight baseball-softball fields, seven soccer fields, walking tracks and playgrounds to name some of the amenities planned. Thanks to the financial generosity and in-kind construction support of community benefactors, businesses and industries, two regulation soccer fields have already been constructed with more improvements on the way. We invite you to join in our efforts to build something unique in Southeast Mississippi -- a venue that will draw together families and communities.
More than $68,000 in cash donations have been raised since May 1, 2018, to begin development of The Fields of Waynesboro.
The Wayne County Recreational Sports Authority and the Wayne County Economic Development Foundation have spearheaded the effort to build The Fields of Waynesboro. Long-term plans call for the construction of eight baseball-softball fields, up to seven soccer fields, walking tracks and playgrounds. The Wayne County Economic Development Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is accepting donations for the development of this recreational facility. Tax-deductible donations can be made to the Foundation in person at 610 Azalea Drive in Waynesboro (across from the south entrance to the Courthouse) or by mail to Wayne County Economic Development Foundation, 610 Azalea Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Please note in your check's "FOR" line ... "The Fields of Waynesboro."
